Unbroken periods of service in the public service, as defined in the PSSA (Public Service Superannuation Act), including both RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and Canadian Forces service.

OBS

continuous service: Not to be confused with "continuous employment." This definition is used to establish the rate of pay upon appointment, the entitlement to a pay increment, and vacation entitlements. For these purposes, a designated paid holiday is considered to be a compensation day, not a break in continuous service.

Interruption of earnings: Term also used in the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1985 (with amendments to March 1, 1991) and the Employment Insurance Act, 1996.

Il y a également arrêt de rémunération lorsqu’un employé assuré cesse de travailler en raison de maladie, de blessure, de mise en quarantaine, de grossesse ou de congé parental, et que sa rémunération hebdomadaire est inférieure à 60 % de la rémunération hebdomadaire normale assurable.
