(1) Rapport à l’intervalle unitaire du maximum des différences mesurées, prises en valeur absolue, entre les intervalles réels séparant tout instant significatif de la modulation (ou de la restitution) de l’instant significatif de départ qui le précède immédiatement, et les intervalles théoriques correspondants.

(2) La plus grande valeur absolue de degré de distorsion individuelle que présentent les instants significatifs d’un sématème arythmique.

Le degré de distorsion d’une modulation(ou restitution) arythmique s’exprime habituellement en pourcentage. On pourra distinguer le degré de distorsion en retard(ou positive) du degré de distorsion en avance(ou négative).

OBS

L’indication de ce degré de distorsion devrait être accompagnée par celle de l’intervalle de temps (généralement limité) pendant lequel l’observation a été faite. Les intervalles théoriques sont en relation avec la rapidité de modulation nominale.
