Like data journalism, computational journalism has been characterized as a descendant of CAR [computer-assisted reporting]. [However,] computational journalism goes beyond CAR in its focus on the processing capabilities of computing, particularly aggregating, automating, and abstracting information. Likewise, there is also significant commonality between data journalism and computational journalism in the use of computational tools and collaborative processes to analyze and present data. But ... not all data journalism is computational; computational journalism works primarily through abstraction of information to produce computable models, while data journalism works primarily through analysis of data sets to produce data-oriented stories. 2, record 4, English, - computational%20journalism

Research tells us that regular physical exercise helps to improve both our body and our mind. This September, The Arthritis Society's Joints in Motion Program will be making history as they team up with the Royal Canadian Legion to participate in the In Flanders Fields Marathon. The marathon, which also is known as the Marathon of Peace, will take runners and walkers through the Belgium battlefields of the First World War. The timing is particularly appropriate, given that November 11 will mark the 85th anniversary of the end of the Great War. Traditionally, Joints in Motion participants run in honour of an "arthritis hero."

3, record 11, French, - %C3%A8re%20glaciaire

While the immigrants who came during the first migratory wave (1880 to the late 1920s) have already disappeared, those who arrived during the second wave (1947 to the late 1960s) are an increasingly ageing population. As their numbers gradually decrease in the coming years, the last living witnesses of the multiple peasant cultures from which most Italian-Canadians descended will disappear as well. Exhibition of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. "Inuit living in the western Canadian Arctic call themselves "Inuvialuit", meaning "real human beings", and have long considered themselves distinct from other Canadian Inuit. Today this distinct identity has a political dimension; the Inuvialuit chose not to join Nunavut (the new Inuit territory in the eastern Arctic), but to remain in the Northwest Territories under their own land claim agreement. The exhibition "Inuvialuit" explores the history of this unique Arctic people, from their first arrival in the Canadian Arctic from Alaska about a thousand years ago to the modern era. The exhibition highlights material collected by fur trader Roderick MacFarlane in the 1860s, and the photographic resources of the Anglican Archives, dating from the 1890s." 1, record 13, English, - Inuvialuit%3A%20The%20Other%20Inuit

The State Department, for example, recognizes three "periods" with respect to its records. First there is a "closed" period covering the more recent years; during this period, foreign policy records are in general closed to access by non-official researchers in advance of the Department's documentary series entitled "Foreign Relations of the United States"; the beginning date of this closed period is advanced automatically as the annual "Foreign Relations" volumes are released. Secondly, an "open" period extends from the earliest days up to 30 years before the current year. 2, record 16, English, - closed%20period
