That the knee can attain any degree of stability in extension, and indeed is not even more vulnerable, is due to the all-important quadriceps and to the complex action which differentiates the joint from a simple hinge -namely, the screw-home movement. This is the mechanism whereby, at the completion of extension, the tibia rotates laterally by the indirect action of the quadriceps, guided in its course by the anterior cruciate ligament and the form of the articular surfaces. The screw-home movement is an important feature of the knee-joint mechanism not only because it determines the stability of the joint in extension but because disorders of its complex action are responsible for most of the common internal derangements of the knee. 2, record 8, English, - screw%20home%20motion

1, record 18, French, - faille%20de%20traction

The result was the establishment of the Aboriginal Management Executive Development (AMED) program. The program offers the potential for internal upward movement of DIAND's Aboriginal/Inuit employees who occupy upper middle management level positions. Surely a government such as that of General Franco which considers itself to be the legal government of Spain cannot, as it seems to me, sit passively by while the proceedings are in process and would have the duty towards itself to contest the legitimation of its rival as party to the proceedings or, rather, on grounds of deeper principle, to attack the validity of the special agreement itself as having been concluded by an "illegal government". 1, record 27, English, - legal%20government

It is sometimes asserted that a state may exist even though it has no territory, and in this connection instances of the governments in exile during the World War II are cited. This, however, is not a true illustration because the cases of the governments in exile are merely examples of lawful governments functioning from another country during continuance of military operations. The dispossession of the lawful government by the invader pendente bello is no more than an incident of military operations. 2, record 27, English, - legal%20government

L'I. 1, record 27, French, - gouvernement%20l%C3%A9gal
