[The method] was innovative in that it involved the concept of a stationary liquid (water) supported on an inert solid (silica), with the result that the solute molecules partitioned between the stationary liquid and a separate mobile liquid phase (chloroform). The technique came to be called partition chromatography. 2, record 1, English, - partition%20chromatography

The separation of a mixture occurs when a mobile phase (liquid or gas) passes over a stationary liquid phase which may be on paper, solid particles or the walls of a capillary tube.
4, record 1, French, - chromatographie%20de%20partage

The prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-," along with their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-" and "p-"), appear in italics and are ignored in alphabetizing. According to the actual chemical nomenclature rules in organic chemistry (in 2003), the numbers designating the positions of the disubstitution groups (1,2- for "ortho-," 1,3- for "meta-" and 1,4- for "para-") are to be preferred to the symbols "o-," "m-" and "p-." Furthermore, the prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-" should not be used anymore, and their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-," and "p-") will soon be judged to be avoided, if not totally condemned. 1, record 13, English, - 4%2D%28propan%2D2%2Dyl%29benzaldehyde

Method of production of microencapsulated enzymes based on a chemical reaction to synthesize a water-insoluble polymer at the interface of a microdroplet. The two monomers must have differing solubilities such that one is partially soluble in both the aqueous and organic phases (that is, a hydrophilic monomer) whilst the other must be soluble only in the organic phase (that is, a hydrophobic monomer. A solution of the hydrophilic monomer and enzyme is emulsified in an organic solvent, and to this emulsion is added a solution of hydrophobic monomer in the same organic solvent. By polymerization reactions of the condensation or addition type, a membrane is formed at the interface between the organic and aqueous phases. 2, record 20, English, - interfacial%20polymerization%20method

3, record 23, French, - catalyse%20de%20coordination

While a number of different types of foam are commercially available for fighting chemical fire, only two types of foam are considered in this book: "ordinary foam, such as AFFF or protein foam and "alcohol" foam, i.e., alcohol resistant foam. "Alcohol" foam is recommended for some water miscible and some immiscible flammable liquids which tend to break down other foams. In cases where a doubt exists as to the requirement for or efficiency of "alcohol" foam, "ordinary" foam is recommended. 1, record 25, English, - immiscible%20flammable%20liquid
