The Canadian Skills Competitions are a truly exciting showcase of the knowledge and skill of high school, college and apprenticeship students in up to 25 trade-specific contests. Hundreds of experts from the private sector along with key educators are involved in the planning, organizing and judging of the contests, using national standards of performance as judging benchmarks. The event provides impetus for schools across the country to promote the notion of excellence among students, to provide professional development for teachers, and to celebrate practical education. Les Compétitions canadiennes en formation professionnelle et technique illustre de façon très excitante les connaissances et les aptitudes professionnelles que des étudiants du palier secondaire et du palier collégial ainsi que des apprentis ont réussi à acquérir dans 25 métiers ou techniques. Les compétitions ont été conçues et organisées par des centaines d’experts du secteur privé ainsi que par des éducateurs qui jugeront les concurrents en fonction de normes nationales de rendement. Ces compétitions visent à inciter toutes les écoles du pays à promouvoir la notion d’excellence auprès de leurs élèves, à encourager le perfectionnement professionnel du personnel enseignant et à démontrer les avantages de la formation professionnelle et technique.
