Motion planning requires exploring the configuration space of a robot or agent in order to find a sequence of feasible actions that maneuver the robot or agent around obstacles to a goal. However, not all motion plans are equal. In optimal motion planning, the objective is to find the best solution that optimizes relevant criteria, such as a path of minimum length, greatest clearance from obstacles, or minimum control effort. 1, record 1, English, - optimal%20motion%20planning

1, record 1, Spanish, - planificaci%C3%B3n%20de%20movimientos%20%C3%B3ptimos

Viewing Distance at Computer Workstations. ... Accommodation is when the lens capsule in your eye changes shape to focus on a close object. The eyes have a default accommodation distance, called the resting point of accommodation (RPA). That is the distance at which the eyes focus when there is nothing to focus on. In total darkness our eyes are set to focus at a particular distance, so that if the lights were turned on, an object at that distance would be in clear focus. The RPA averages 30 inches for younger people and gets farther away with age. 3, record 4, English, - accommodation%20distance

Keystone correction. Using optics design or other methods to apply a "negative" keystone to the image, which will partially cancel the effects of keystoning. If you aim a projector with keystone correction at a screen with the lens level with the middle of the screen you will not see that the image at the bottom is wider than at the top. When the projector is in normal position, pointing upward 10-25 degrees, the resulting image is fairly rectangular. 2, record 11, English, - keystone%20correction

1, record 14, French, - tesseract

What distinguish city from village are mainly two facts. The first of these is the presence of an organized social core, around which the whole structure of the community coheres. If this nucleation may begin in the village stage, as remains of temples seem to indicate, there is a general shift of household occupations and rituals into specialized collective institutions, part of the intensified social division of labor brought in with civilization itself. But, from the standpoint of the city's relation to the earth, the important point to notice is that, in this social core or nucleus, the sharpest departures from the daily habits and the physical structure of the village take place. 2, record 17, English, - social%20core

The notion of fractal dimension provides a numerical measure of the wiggliness of a curve or the roughness of a surface. It fits within the intuitive idea that a crinkly curve somehow covers more of a given area than a smooth curve and that a rough surface fills more space than a smooth one. Beyond that, a fractal dimension is a way of expressing the fact that a fractal is self-similar, or contains copies of itself. It reflects the relationship between the whole and its parts. 3, record 24, English, - fractal%20dimension

A true pitch propeller is one that makes use of the blade-element theory. Each element (section) of the blade travels at a different rate of speed, that is, the tip sections travel faster than the sections close to the hub. When the elements (sections) are arranged so that each is set at the proper angle to the relative airstream, they all advance the same distance during any single revolution of the propeller. 1, record 33, English, - true%20pitch%20propeller

3, record 33, French, - h%C3%A9lice%20%C3%A0%20pas%20constant
