Remotely acquired data using the Landsat satellite system provide a means for initiating crop growth simulation models and crop phenology models at a field level over a large geographic area. A model based on Landsat spectral data has been developed that estimates a spectral emergence of the crop at a pixel (field) level. This spectral emergence date is evaluated using dates of planting and emergence reported by farmers for their fields or spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and barley (Hordeum vulare L.) located in North and South Dakota. The model can provide a means of understanding the distribution of crop emergence across all pixels of a region. This knowledge of emergence date of spring grains from satellite data provides an ability to run crop development and yield prediction models at field level. 1, record 2, English, - spectral%20emergence%20date

Agriculture drones have a wide range of uses. For starters, they can be used in monitoring crop growth in real time. By taking aerial photographs ... or videos ... of large farm fields, farmers and agriculturists can identify potential problems with their crops before they become serious issues. ... Drones in agriculture have also helped lower labor costs associated with traditional crop production practices by reducing the need for manual labor in areas such as scouting pest and disease infestations, detecting soil variations, measuring water content in the soil, or assessing fertilizer requirements. Additionally, some advanced models come equipped with sensors that measure light, temperature, pH levels in soil, and other essential parameters related to crop health. 5, record 4, English, - agricultural%20drone

4, record 17, French, - v%C3%A9g%C3%A9tal%20en%20conteneur

Delineating between new snow and old snow presents a challenge. A snow board (generally a sheet of plywood) can provide an artificial surface at the top of the existing snow. Snow boards are laid on top of old snow when there is any possibility of new snow falling. After each observation of new snow, the board is cleaned and placed in a new location. 4, record 23, French, - planche%20%C3%A0%20neige

Choose a tree with a good strong root system, that is, with a healthy main root and many fine feeder roots. Being able to see the roots is the main advantage of buying bareroot! ... It's very important to keep the roots of bareroot stock moist. Soaking the roots in a bucket of water for an hour before planting is an excellent idea. After this soaking, handle the tree quickly so it doesn't dry out, especially if it's a windy day. Any bareroot stock bought before you've prepared a planting area should be heeled into a moist planting medium. Sawdust works well for this because you can lift the plant out easily, with minimal damage to roots. 1, record 37, English, - bareroot%20stock

1, record 46, French, - technique%20de%20lutte%20passive

Soil Retention Tests. One variation of this test is directed toward the use of geotextiles as underwater silt curtains. The test device consists of two rectangular tanks which are placed end to end with slide gates facing one another. Between these two slide gates is the fabric specimen under test. The upstream tank (with the slide gate closed) is now filled with water that has a known amount of silt uniformly mixed in it. The gate valve at the exit end of the downstream tank is opened. The test begins by lifting up the slide gates on each side of the fabric and allowing the (turbid) water to pass through the fabric, which is acting as a submerged soil filter ... This test ... is aimed at the reduction in turbidity of rivers and streams during adjacent construction activities. 4, record 50, English, - silt%20curtain

1, record 75, French, - grue%20sur%20porteur
