POP ... short for point of presence, an access point to the Internet. ISPs [Internet service providers] have typically multiple POPs. A point of presence is a physical location, either part of the facilities of a telecommunications provider that the ISP rents or a separate location from the telecommunications provider, that houses servers, routers, ATM [asynchronous transfer mode] switches and digital/analog call aggregators.

... consists of switchable green taxiway centreline lighting with red stop bars between blocks. It is operated by a lighting controller who can use the computer-controlled switching system to set up predetermined routes across the airfield and to protect them with stop bars at intersections. Runways are protected with stop bars, and the controller has an override key to prevent a preselected route from penetrating the runway until it is clear to do so.

Les chemins de roulement sont équipés d’une ligne axiale de feux verts commutables par tronçons. Un signal rouge transversal sépare chaque tronçon du suivant, l'ensemble du système étant commandé par un contrôleur de la signalisation lumineuse aidé d’un ordinateur de commutation. Les accès à la piste sont eux aussi protégés par une barre transversale rouge. Le contrôleur dispose d’une clé d’interdiction qui maintient au rouge le point d’accès à la piste d’un itinéraire prédéterminé sur lequel il a autorisé un avion à rouler, et ce jusqu'à ce qu'il ait acquis la certitude que la piste est libre.
