Afin de permettre aux utilisateurs de s’affranchir des fils reliant ordinairement leurs portables à Internet et de pouvoir leur permettre de se déplacer avec leurs Webpads ou ordinateurs dans toutes les pièces de la maison et les extérieurs proches, ma m@isonnet comprend un réseau de données sans fil. Basé sur la technologie Aironet développée par Cisco Systems et s’appuyant sur la norme 802. 11b, ce réseau se matérialise par un point d’accès relié directement au commutateur et des cartes PCMCIA introduites directement dans les PC et Webpads. Ces cartes disposent d’une antenne intégrée leur permettant de se connecter au réseau via le pont et la bande des fréquences radio 2, 4GHz.
