Les polyuréthanes présentent la particularité d’être l’un des seuls produits plastiques que le transformateur prépare directement à partir des monomères ou plus exactement de pré-polymère (pour mettre en œuvre les autres matières, on part généralement des polymères). On procède alors par polyaddition de di-isocyanates et de polyols.
