This program was created to assist those communities without broadband access. Most often, improved access is necessary in First Nations, northern and rural communities in order to provide services in the areas of health and education, as well as to augment economic opportunities. Ce programme été créé pour aider les collectivités qui n’ont pas accès aux services à large bande. La plupart du temps, il faut améliorer l’accès à la large bande dans les collectivités nordiques, rurales et des Premières nations pour pouvoir leur offrir des services dans les secteurs de la santé et de l’éducation et augmenter leurs perspectives de développement économique. Le Programme pilote des services à large bande a effectué deux séries de financement de l’élaboration d’un plan d’affaires, suivies de deux séries de financement de la mise en œuvre.
