PRECOMPTE SYNDICAL GENERALISE OBLIGATOIRE [1 record]

Record 1 1978-01-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Union Organization
OBS

This expression has only been encountered in G. Dion's work DIRET. According to varied sources, it would seem that "agency shop" is always compulsory and there is no need for the redundant use of the word "compulsory". However, Dion's dictionary makes a point of translating the French word "obligatoire" and wishes to underline the idea of "legally compulsory". See also "agency shop".

French

Domaine(s)
  • Organisation syndicale
DEF

Précompte syndical établi par la législation imposant à l’employeur l’obligation de retenir au bénéfice d’un syndicat accrédité sur la paye de chacun des travailleurs dans l’unité de négociation, qu’il soit syndiqué ou non, un montant équivalent aux cotisations syndicales dès qu’un syndicat a reçu son accréditation comme agent de négociation.

OBS

Expression employée par G. Dion dans un sens plus spécifique que son sens ordinaire et introduisant l’idée de l’obligation prévue par la législation.
