In thinking about the effect of greenhouse gases on climate, it is important to distinguish between long-lived greenhouse gases which are removed slowly from the atmosphere on a time scale of thousands of years or more, and short-lived greenhouse gases which are removed on a time scale of weeks to years by condensation or rapid chemical reactions. 3, record 1, English, - long%2Dlived%20greenhouse%20gas

A chemical compound which appears under the form of a noncombustible, asphyxiating, colourless, sweet-tasting gas, is soluble in alcohol, ether, and concentrated sulfuric acid, is slightly soluble in water, is derived by thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate, controlled reduction of nitriles or nitrates, supports combustion, can form explosive mixture with air, narcotic in high concentration, and is used as an anesthetic in dentistry and surgery, a propellant gas in food aerosols, and for leak detection. 9, record 3, English, - dinitrogen%20oxide

Nitrous oxide is destroyed by ultraviolet light and has a 150-year residence time in the atmosphere. Concentrations of nitrous oxide are increasing presently at about 0.3%, or 0.7 ppb [part per billion], per year. Pressurized or instant whipping cream: Pressurized cream, sometimes referred to as instant-whip cream is a 20 to 40 percent fat product, sweetened, flavored with vanilla, and packaged with an inert gas under pressure. For this purpose, nitrous oxide has been used successfully. Upon release of the gas-saturated, pressurized cream through a special valve, the cream explodes instantly into a relatively stable, almost frothy product not entirely unlike whipped cream. 2, record 5, English, - instant%20whipped%20cream

Ionization interference is a problem in the analysis of alkali metals, which have the lowest ionization potentials. Ionized atoms have different energy levels from those of neutral atoms and hence the desired signal is decreased.
