A coarse-grained sedimentary rock, composed of rounded to subangular fragments of limestone larger than 2 mm in diameter set in a finer-grained matrix.

Both limestone conglomerate and quartz conglomerate ... have been extracted locally in the Leesburg area of Loudoun County. The limestone conglomerate is very attractive when cut and polished.

Conglomérat à fragments de calcaire [...] et à galets de quartz [...] et de quartzite [...]. La roche bréchifiée est parcourue de veinules secondaires de quartz et de calcite. Les fragments de calcaire présents dans des conglomérats de même nature situés à quelques centaines de mètres plus au Nord contiennent des conodontes du Dévonien moyen associés à des conodontes du Famennien supérieur-Tournaisien.
