Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Fiamme are lens-shaped, usually mm to cm in size, seen on surfaces of some volcaniclastic rocks. They can occur in welded pyroclastic fall deposits and in ignimbrites, which are the deposits of pumiceous pyroclastic density currents. 3, record 3, English, - fiamme
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The pumice clasts, which are in a hot, plastic state when deposited from the pyroclastic flow, are compressed and flattened by the weight of the overlying ignimbrite body, producing elongated glassy clasts with ragged, flame-like ends ... Many fiamme clasts continue to vesiculate after formation, leading to the development of spherical vesicles within them. 2, record 3, English, - fiamme
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 OBS
The name fiamme comes from the Italian word for flames, describing their shape. The term is descriptive and non-genetic. 3, record 3, English, - fiamme

Pyroclastic air fall deposits are a result of: ballistic transport of ejecta such as volcanic blocks, volcanic bombs and lapilli from volcanic explosions; deposition of material from convective clouds associated with pyroclastic flows such as coignimbrite falls; ejecta carried in gas streaming from a vent; ... ejecta settling from an eruptive plume or eruption column that is displaced laterally by wind currents and is dispersed over great distances. 2, record 4, English, - pyroclastic%20air%2Dfall%20deposit

3, record 4, French, - d%C3%A9p%C3%B4t%20de%20retomb%C3%A9es%20pyroclastiques
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 OBS
4, record 4, French, - d%C3%A9p%C3%B4t%20de%20retomb%C3%A9es%20pyroclastiques
