SILO FERMENTATION [3 records]

Record 1 2010-02-22

English

Subject field(s)
  • Grain Growing
  • Animal Feed (Agric.)
CONT

When high moisture grain such as corn is placed in a sealed silo, the grain undergoes fermentation, oxygen is depleted, and carbon dioxide is increased by the respiration of the grains, yeasts, and bacteria. Aerobic mold growth is halted but germination is impaired, making the seed only suitable for animal feed.

Key term(s)
  • high-moisture grain

French

Domaine(s)
  • Culture des céréales
  • Alimentation des animaux (Agric.)
CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Equipment and Tools (Water Supply)
  • Water Treatment (Water Supply)
CONT

A large scale of organic wastes from intensive production of livestock and city refuse have resulted in major environmental problems. So more attention has been paid to solve the problem by developing a series of manufacturing processing techniques. Alone with it a number of waste treatment plants have been established in persent years. Such composting factory equipped with rotary fermentation tower to make the process aerobically. Because of the process is being carried out by micro-organisms, the management methods should be set to meet the need for aerobic micro-organisms growth.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Équipement et outillage (Alimentation en eau)
  • Traitement des eaux
CONT
