[The] push-broom scanner [is a] type of imaging system ... commonly used in optical remote sensing satellites such as SPOT. The imaging system has a linear detector array (usually of the CCD type) consisting of a number of detector elements (6000 elements in SPOT HRV). Each detector element projects an "instantaneous field of view (IFOV)" on the ground. The signal recorded by a detector element is proportional to the total radiation collected within its IFOV. At any instant, a row of pixels are formed. As the detector array flies along its track, the row of pixels sweeps along to generate a two-dimensional image. 2, record 5, English, - linear%20detector%20array

1, record 6, French, - %C3%A9chantillonnage

Device based on the concept of a two-position valve; in the first position the mobile phase passes continuously through one side of the valve while the sample passes through the other side of the valve; rotation of the valve through 180° then enables the mobile phase to sweep the fixed volume of sample into the column. 2, record 11, English, - sampling%20valve

Sample loops are of particular value for repetitive injections and quantitative analyses as no immediate dilution of the sample by the mobile phase occurs. On many sample valves the loop is replaceable or adjustable so that different volumes of sample can be dispensed. 3, record 11, English, - sampling%20valve

2, record 12, French, - %C3%A9chantillonnage
