A pentahydric alcohol derived from xylose, the latter being extracted from peanut pods, birchwood, or other woods. Currently made synthetically, (wastes from the pulp and paper industry). A sweetener and probable diuretic.

... Trident with Dentec (the trademark for xylitol) had just been recognized by the Canadian Dental Association as beneficial to dental health.

Xylitol has the same relative sweetness as sugar. This benefit, as well as it's reported reputation of preventing dental caries, is far outweighed by studies which link it to tumor formation in animals. For this reason, the US has voluntarily curtailed its use in food products. Xylitol was a popular ingredient in chewing gums.

N'obéissant à aucune règle précise et souvent rédigé sous forme narrative, il sert à rafraîchir la mémoire de l'agent qui doit s’entretenir d’une affaire avec un représentant de l'État auprès duquel il est accrédité. La caractéristique de ce document est qu'il n’ est pas attribuable à qui que ce soit, à la différence de l'aide-mémoire. Ainsi, malgré son utilité pratique et son ton de courtoisie, il ne peut servir à asseoir une position politique, diplomatique ou juridique qui pourrait être retenue contre une quelconque autorité ou attribuée à son auteur.
