Il semble que plusieurs sous-groupes de dysphonies liées à un déséquilibre de la musculature laryngée puissent être distingués [...] Type III : hypertonicité avec contraction antéropostérieure du plan glottique, entraînant une bascule antérieure des aryténoïdes et une bascule postérieure de l'épiglotte. Il existe un raccourcissement passif de la corde vocale entraînant une aggravation de la voix. Le type III est également connu sous le nom de «syndrome de Bogart et Bacall», car souvent rencontré chez les professionnels du spectacle(animateurs de radio ou de télévision, acteurs de cinéma).
