One of the major CADx applications is the differentiation of malignancy/benignancy for tumors/lesions. Several studies have suggested that the incorporation of the CADx system into the diagnostic process can improve the performance of image diagnosis by decreasing inter-observer variation and providing the quantitative support for the clinical decision like biopsy recommendations, etc. 2, record 1, English, - computer%2Daided%20diagnosis

4, record 7, French, - injection%20cyclique%20de%20vapeur%20d%26rsquo%3Beau

Two new technologies for cancer detection and therapy are three-dimensional multimodality display and computer-aided diagnosis. The display technique employs scientific visualization methods similar to those used in the geosciences or astronomy to fuse information from several imaging tools into a single coherent picture. 1, record 11, English, - three%2Ddimensional%20multimodality%20display

1, record 11, French, - affichage%20en%20trois%20dimensions

A good example of the [DNA recombinant] technique comes from work carried out by ICI where a gene for an energy conserving nitrogen pathway taken from E. coli was transferred into their SCP (single-cell protein) organism Methylophilus methylotrophus strain AS1 where it substituted for the similar but energy consuming pathway possessed by the strain. 1, record 13, English, - nitrogen%20pathway

1, record 13, French, - voie%20m%C3%A9tabolique%20de%20l%26rsquo%3Bazote

Technique using Bromodeoxyuridine (BUdR) which is a thymidine analog that can be incorporated into the DNA of replicating cells growing in a medium where such a compound is present. BUdR added to the culture medium in the last hours before harvesting is incorporated into late replicating DNA and induces a condensation delay in late replicating DNA segments, allowing the identification of late replicating chromosomes without the need of autoradiography. 1, record 15, English, - BUdR%20technique

The BUdR technique has already found successful application in clinical cytogenetics; identification and delineation of inactive X chromosomes in cases of balanced and unbalanced X-autosomal translocation have been recently achieved (1975). The demonstration of sister chromatid exchanges in cases of Bloom syndrome, Fanconi's anemia, and ataxia-telangiectasia has been made possible by this technique (1975). 1, record 15, English, - BUdR%20technique

1, record 15, French, - technique%20BRdU
