L’électrofocalisation. Dans cette technique on établit dans une colonne liquide, à l’aide d’électrolytes appropriés, un gradient de pH. Après introduction du mélange de protéines dans la colonne, on effectue une migration électrophorétique. Une protéine donnée va migrer selon sa charge initiale vers l’une ou l’autre électrode, jusqu’à ce qu’elle atteigne la zone correspondant à son pH isoélectrique; là, sa charge s’annule et sa migration s’arrête.
