Once the normalized intensity at diffraction focus has been determined, the quality of the optical system may be ascertained using the Marechal criterion. The Marechal criterion states that a system is regarded as well corrected if the normalized intensity at diffraction focus is greater than or equal to 0.8, which corresponds to an rms wavefront error [lambda]/14. 1, record 1, English, - Marechal%20criterion

1, record 2, French, - test%20d%27Hartmann
