All the elastic components of GERB spring elements are made from helical springs with one or more spiral ... The load-bearing capacity of the standard GERB steel spring elements goes up to 3200 kg for each element. The frequency in the direction of vertical vibration is about 1.8 - 6 Hz. The GERB elements insulate machinery, and function as shock absorbers in all directions without blocking the six degrees of freedom ... GERB steel spring elements are suitable for the support of: - Power station machinery (turbo-generators, blowers, coal pulverisers, boiler pumps, diesel engines) and pipelines; - Forge hammers, presses, machine tools, crushers, compressors and testing stands; - Precision machinery of every type such as laser equipment, testing machines, roll grinders, microscopes; - Buildings or parts of buildings. They are also used as oscillation dampers in the construction of bridges.

Les éléments de suspension des boîtes à ressort GERB sont constitués d’un ou de plusieurs ressorts hélicoïdaux. [...] En exécution standard, les boîtes à ressort GERB sont disponibles pour des charges maximales de 3200 kg par unité. Leur fréquence propre d’oscillation verticale est comprise en 1, 8 et 6 Hz. Les éléments GERB permettent une isolation vibratoire de machines avec effet amortissant sur trois axes, sans blocage des six degrés de liberté de la masse monobloc oscillante. [...] Les boîtes à ressort GERB permettent de réaliser les appuis élastiques de :-machines de centrales de force motrice, souffleries, broyeurs à charbon, pompes de chaudière, moteurs diesel ainsi que les suspensions pour tuyauterie;-forges, presses, machines-outils, concasseurs, compresseurs et bancs d’essai;-machines de précision en tout genre(par ex. installations à laser, machines de test, machines à rectifier les cylindres, microscopes) ;-bâtiments ou éléments de bâtiments et ponts.

Le chantier se situant au droit d’une ligne de métro, l’utilisation d’un système anti-vibrations fut nécessaire. Deux techniques furent employées : - des appuis Néoprène. - des boîtes à ressorts.
