Several methods have been proposed to remove space debris. Most of the proposed methods fall into two main categories, active and passive debris removal. Active space debris removal includes using a net, a robotic arm, or a built-in internal propulsion. The net method involves using a net to catch large and slow-moving debris. The robotic arm method has been proposed to capture failed or abandoned satellites in high orbits. The built-in internal propulsion method can be used to deorbit large satellites at high altitudes. At the end of the satellite's life, the internal propulsion system can fire and change the orbit to either descend rapidly into the Earth's atmosphere or into deep space. 1, record 3, English, - active%20space%20debris%20removal

Not just simple responses to an external stimulus play a role in instinctive behavior; instinctive activity involves sequences of behavior that run a predictable course. These behaviors may last seconds, minutes, hours or even days. Exemplifying this, we can refer to a particular species of digger wasp, which finds and captures only honeybees. With no previous experience, a female wasp will unearth an intricate burrow, find a bee, paralyze it with a careful and precise sting to the neck, pilot back to her discreet home, and, when the larder has been supplied with the correct number of bees, lay an egg on one of them and seal the chamber. ... Overall, one of the main distinctive features of instinctive activity is the ability to react to an external stimulus the correct way the first chance (and every time thereafter) the animal receives. This feature distinguishes this particular behavior from what ethnologists call learned behavior, which scientists have discovered are actions that take place from conditioning an animal to learn the right way. 1, record 26, English, - instinctive%20behaviour

Diatomite products that are further processed are called calcined and flux calcined diatomite. Most diatomite products are used in filtering applications. With a large particle size distribution, the smallest of the particles occupy space between larger particles. This reduces the rates of flow through the filter. The purpose of calcining is to reduce the particle size distribution. The use of the term calcined is ingrained in the diatomite industry and markets so it is used frequently, but diatomite is actually sinterized not calcined. Sintering reduces the size distribution by melting the smallest particles together. To produce calcined diatomite the natural product is heated to between 900°C and 1100°C. The high temperatures burn off organic contaminants, and shrink and harden the individual particles. Some of the diatom frustules are sintered into small clusters. The resulting calcined diatomite has a density of about 125 to 150 kg per cubic meter. Flux calcined diatomite is produced using the same methods except a fluxing agent is added before heating. 3, record 28, English, - flux%2Dcalcined%20diatomite

Space Adaptation Syndrome (SAS), also called space motion sickness, is a syndrome that afflicts about half of all space travelers. Symptoms, which resemble those of motion sickness on Earth, range from minor (nausea and headaches) to severe (vomiting) and vary from person to person. Although, the exact cause is unknown, SAS is believed to be caused by conflicting sensory inputs from the eyes, inner ear (vestibular system) and tactile senses (touch). 2, record 34, English, - space%20adaptation%20syndrome

4, record 34, French, - syndrome%20d%26rsquo%3Badaptation%20spatiale

In the preceding context, the use of the verbs "to ground" and "to bond" makes the sentence hardly comprehensible for a non-specialist. Bellanet is an international initiative with a mission to increase the impact of development activities through greater collaboration. Collaboration is enhanced by more effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). At the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro the world was faced with the fact that, in spite of massive and accelerating problems of poverty and environmental degradation in developing countries, levels of spending on development assistance were stagnant or declining among many donor nations, and were likely to remain so for a long time. During follow-up meetings, a number of strategies were discussed. One such meeting took place in Bellagio, Italy (from which the name "Bellanet" was coined), where senior representatives of twenty development agencies concluded that one response to the challenges at hand was to increase the impact and relevance of donor actions through greater collaboration. A subgroup (the World Bank, the MacArthur Foundation, SAREC [Swedish Agency for Research Co-operation with Developing Countries], and IDRC [The International Development Research Centre] was asked to investigate options. A proposal for action was formulated and, at a second Bellagio meeting in late 1994, the formation of Bellanet was endorsed. Bellanet was given a mandate to promote collaboration through the use of emerging information and communication technologies (ICTs). In early 1995 Bellanet officially started with the first meeting of the Bellanet International Steering Committee (BISC) and the formation of the Bellanet International Secretariat established at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), a federal organization established in Ottawa, Ontario. 1, record 54, English, - Bellanet%20Initiative
