2, record 6, French, - effet%20fen%C3%AAtre

A variable may either give status or operating information (also called "level" or "rate" variables, respectively). A status variable defines a condition as of a given point in time, such as a cash balance of $17,000 at the end of the year. An operating variable defines a rate of activity during a given time period, such as sales of $73,000 during the month of April. A financial balance sheet typifies status or level variables, and an income statement illustrates operating or rate variables. 1, record 15, English, - operating%20variable

One of the earliest attempts at machine learning. Developed in 1959 by O.G. Selfridge, PANDEMONIUM exemplified the approach to learning at the time: anthropomorphic neural networks with partial random initial structure. See O.G. Selfridge [Pandemonium: a Paradigm of Learning] in Proceedings of the Symposium on Mechanization of thought Processes, Her Majesty's Stationery Office, London, 1959. 1, record 17, English, - pandemonium

Variable cycle is not simply a question of varying the by-pass ratio. The key achievement would be to control the power, speed and temperature of an engine independently and the most difficult element is to modify turbine operation, perhaps with controllable turbine guide vanes. 1, record 19, English, - variable%20cycle

1, record 19, French, - cycle%20variable
