The word "endogenous" was originally a botanical term ... Endogenous means originating on or growing within the side of something, as cells within the wall of the parent cell ... That's a good metaphor for economic or technological growth -- exogenous growth is growing like rings on a tree -- definitely not how an economy grows, or innovations develop. It's a view of society as a giant organism within which innovations develop randomly and irregularly, not in any planned manner. Endogenous growth theory simply means economic growth from within a system, usually a nation-state. 2, record 10, English, - endogenous%20growth%20theory

Many screw designs have been utilized over the years for the various extrusion processes and materials. ... The best-known screws can be loosely separated into two categories -conventional screws and barrier screws. Conventional screws usually are single flighted designs with the flight lead (or flight pitch) equal to the screw's nominal diameter. This type is termed a square-pitched screw, and when no mixing devices are present, it usually is referred to as a metering screw. Barrier screws are seen in many design configurations used in the extrusion industry, depending upon the designer. These screws have a second flight, which acts as a melt/solid separator designed to enhance output stability and allow higher usable output performance levels. 1, record 14, English, - barrier%20screw

2, record 14, French, - vis%20Maillefer

The term intermediary metabolism is used to refer to those biochemical reactions occurring in cells by which the many biochemical intermediates are formed and/or transformed into other products necessary for life. Glycolysis, for example, produces glucose-6-phosphate, which can be transformed into ribose, glucuronate, glycerol, pyruvate, oxo-glutarate, glutamate, ascorbic acid, etc. To produce the large number of intermediates requires intertwined metabolic pathways, all carefully regulated by allosteric enzymes and hormones. 1, record 19, English, - intermediary%20metabolism

1, record 19, French, - m%C3%A9tabolisme%20interm%C3%A9diaire
