The multiple slotted flap system for aircraft [employs] a plurality of flap sections extending from the edge of a wing in sequential progression by means of tracks and rollers which are wholly contained within the contour of the respective flap sections. Le volet à fentes multiples. Ce volet est une amélioration du volet à fente unique. À mesure que le volet se déploie, une sorte de petite aile, ou déflecteur, vient se positionner entre le bord de fuite de l'aile et le bord d’attaque du volet. Le déflecteur possède deux fonctions, il crée une seconde fente et de part sa forme il dirige le flux d’air avec une grande efficacité. Ce type de volet à double fente est une méthode exceptionnelle pour augmenter la portance à cause de la complexité mécanique liée à sa cynématique.
