When the scale floor indicates that the appropriate garner is empty, the valve at the bottom of the unloading pit is activated. The grain discharges onto a conveyor belt and is transferred to the boot of the receiving leg. En route it passes under a large electro magnet which removes all ferrous metal from the grain.
