Since the English equivalent of the French noun acarifuge is "mite repellent", and given the WEBAB 81 definition of "repellent", ADJ., as "causing insects, etc., to react by staying away", the term "mite-repellent" might reasonably be proposed to render the French adjective "acarifuge".
