The DFC-500 will perform an automatic pre-flight test routine and monitors itself while in operation. A rate monitor continuously assesses the activity of the duplex autopilot actuators in relation to three-axis rate gyro signals and detects and disconnects the faulty channel following a failure.

Le DFC-500 effectue automatiquement un test de routine avant le vol et fait l'objet d'un contrôle permanent par ses circuits d'autovérification lorsqu'il est en fonctionnement.
