Les aérogares sont situées sur l'aérodrome et il ne faut pas les confondre avec les terminus urbains situés en ville et souvent appelés aussi «aérogare». On peut voir, par exemple, à Paris, sur un bâtiment de l'esplanade, une pancarte Aérogare des Invalides : il ne s'agit pas d'une aérogare, mais d'un terminus urbain. Ce bâtiment n'est d'ailleurs pas exploité par l'Aéroport de Paris, mais par la compagnie Air France.

OBS

Cette réalité n'est pas canadienne. En France, une compagnie aérienne peut avoir un comptoir de service au centre-ville à partir duquel les passagers sont ensuite conduits par autobus à l'aéroport.
