Le Règlement sur le transport des marchandises dangereuses se doit de faire, parfois, une distinction entre différents aéronefs qui sont «avions» et «hélicoptères». Par contre, dans les cas où le règlement s'applique aux deux types d'appareils, l'on utilise le terme «aéronef cargo».
