Granite aplites are light-coloured fine-grained rocks, having the same mineralogy as granites, although biotite is rarely, if ever, present. They often contain pneumatolytic minerals such as tourmaline, topaz, fluorite, etc., and concentrations of rare elements such as beryllium and lithium.
