Subject field(s)
  • Artificial Intelligence
DEF

A form of learning from examples in which a set of examples are investigated for similarities and dissimilarities from which to make generalizations.

CONT

Most machine learning research to date has involved either inductive learning ... or learning by analogy ... This type of learning has been named Similarity-based learning (SBL).

OBS

The term is generally used when distinguishing between this form of learning and explanation-based learning.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Intelligence artificielle
CONT
