Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming material is a long chain synthetic polyamide having at least 85% of its amide linkages (-NH-CO) attached directly to two aromatic rings ... 7, record 1, English, - aramid%20fiber
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Aramid fibers exhibit low flammability, high strength, and high modulus. Fabrics made from aramid fibers maintain their integrity at high temperatures; such fabrics are used extensively in hot-air filters. Aramids are also found in protective clothing, ropes and cables, and tire cord. 8, record 1, English, - aramid%20fiber

[...] Domaines d'applications. - Protection : gilet pare-balles, casques, blindages, vêtements de protection, gants. - Cordages et câbles : ancrage de plateformes, levage, haubans, câbles, cordages nautiques [...] 6, record 1, French, - fibre%20aramide

... a wholly man-made advanced composite has joined the ranks of advanced aircraft structure materials. It is man-made in that both the resin matrix and the reinforcing fibre are synthetic polymers. The fibre in question is known as an aromatic polyamide ("aramid" for short) and it is an outgrowth of nylon technology. The only such fibre currently available commercially is Du Pont "Kevlar", originally developed as a stronger alternative to steel for vehicle tyre reinforcement. 4, record 2, English, - aromatic%20polyamide

4, record 2, French, - polyamide%20aromatique
