Friends' trips arranged for Members and Friends of the National Gallery of Canada are organized and conducted by volunteers and have art-related themes. These extended trips and day tours not only visit major galleries and museums, but provide a unique opportunity to see private galleries and collections not ordinarily accessible to the public. The Friends of the National Gallery have sponsored escorted trips from within and around Ottawa and to far-flung corners of the world since 1958.

Les voyages et les excursions que les Amis organisent pour les membres du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada sont axés sur l'art. Ces voyages prolongés ou excursions d'une journée sont organisés et dirigés par des bénévoles rompus aux voyages. Ils sont agrémentés d'arrêts dans les principaux musées et galeries d'art des régions visitées, et permettent de découvrir des galeries privées et des collections non accessibles au public ordinairement. Les Amis organisent des voyages accompagnés en partance de la grande région d'Ottawa-Hull, à destination des endroits les plus éloignés dans le monde, depuis 1958.
