ARTEFACT GIBBS [1 record]

Record 1 2007-04-11

English

Subject field(s)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
CONT

Gibbs ringing artifacts are bright or dark lines that are seen parallel and adjacent to borders of abrupt intensity change. The ringing is caused by incomplete digitization of the echo. This means the signal has not decayed to zero by the end of the acquisition window, and the echo is not fully digitized.

Key term(s)
  • truncation artefact
  • Gibbs ringing artefact
  • Gibbs artefact

French

Domaine(s)
  • Imagerie par résonance magnétique
CONT
