Based in Bangalore, India, the Asian Women's Human Rights Council is a network of women's groups in 17 Asian countries that promotes a critical and feminist perspective on human rights, addresses the issue of violence against women in Asia, and facilitates unity among Asian women. They received institutional support, as well as assistance to organize a public hearing on women and war, aimed at providing women victims of war and armed conflicts the opportunity to testify.
