Geotextile Assembly.... Jointing systems.... Loose overlaps. Usually joints made during the construction of water permeable structures are achieved by overlapping. To date this is the only method which can be carried out under water. The amount of overlap depends on the construction requirement, laying tolerances and such like. The overlap can be minimized by using plastic pins. Pins, however, should only be used above water.

Il existe divers modes d'assemblage des géotextiles dont le choix dépend de la nature de l'ouvrage, des fonctions que doit remplir le géotextile et éventuellement des conditions de mise en œuvre. L'assemblage par recouvrement est le plus facile à réaliser et le plus courant. Le recouvrement d'une nappe sur l'autre doit être au minimum de 0.30 m et peut atteindre 1.00 m, voire davantage, suivant les caractéristiques du sol support (déformabilité), sa planéité, son état de surface, etc. Lors d'un assemblage d'un géotextile par recouvrement, les rouleaux ou fractions de rouleaux sont déroulés successivement en tenant compte des longueurs de recouvrement et du sens de superposition des nappes.
