Les demandes de paiement progressif sont normalement envoyées, par l'entremise de l'agent de négociation des contrats, au client qui en assure la vérification et autorise le paiement. Les agents de négociation des contrats qui traitent les demandes de paiement doivent agir promptement. Le paiement arrive normalement à échéance 30 jours après la facturation ou la réception des biens, le délai le plus long étant retenu. Les secteurs ou régions doivent fixer des normes d'exécution acceptables afin de laisser assez de temps pour l'attestation de la demande par un représentant autorisé du client.
