The surface energy balance is the resultant of radiative components such as incoming and outgoing short-wave and long-wave radiation, and also non-radiative components such as sensible heating, latent heating, and the change in energy storage in water or substrate on land. 3, record 1, English, - surface%20energy%20balance
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The main terms involved include the vertical fluxes of energy into or out of the surface due to net radiation, sensible heat, and latent heat, as well as the net horizontal fluxes of energy that may take place below the surface (e.g., due to ocean currents). Any nonzero residual flux is typically applied as a storage term, increasing or decreasing the internal energy below the surface, usually resulting in an associated change of surface temperature. 2, record 1, English, - surface%20energy%20balance

3, record 1, French, - bilan%20%C3%A9nerg%C3%A9tique%20de%20la%20surface
