Bleaching done usually with peroxides at high density, ambient temperature, low alkalinity and long retention times.

OBS

The bleach liquor is applied on the surface of a feltless type web machine or mixed according to normal high-density procedures and stored while bleaching takes place over a period of days. Because no neutralization step is required, the alkalinity in the bleach liquor must be carefully controlled so that the final pulp is neutral or slightly acidic when the peroxide has been fully consumed.

OBS

Le temps de séjour est très long. La solution de peroxyde est soit pulvérisée sur la surface d'une machine à toile sans feutre, soit mélangée à la pâte à haute concentration, puis entreposée pendant que le traitement se poursuit durant plusieurs jours. Aucune neutralisation n'étant requise, l'alcalinité de la solution de blanchiment doit être soigneusement contrôlée pour que la pâte finale soit neutre ou légèrement acide une fois que le peroxyde est complètement décomposé.
