A 1999 review of CF [Canadian Forces] deployment capabilities also identified a need for a military organization that could provide resource support to Canadian Forces deploying on joint operations. As a result, the National Military Support Capability (NMSC) project was established whose aim is to develop by 2003 a military capability to provide support above the tactical level for CF operations in Canada and overseas.
