Between 1900 and 1930, terminal elevator construction at Thunder Bay continued at a fast pace. In 1900, there were five terminals containing a total port storage capacity of 151 500 tonnes: in 1910, 15 terminals with storage capacity of 700 000 tonnes: in 1920 18 terminals with storage capacity of 1.3 million tonnes and in 1930, 26 terminals with a total port storage capacity of 2.3 million tonnes. Since 1930, construction activity has slowed. Today, there are 12 terminals with just over 2 million tonnes of storage capacity.
