Le capias ad respondum (art. 894 et s. de l'ancien Code de procédure civile) était un bref ordonnant d'arrêter et assigner un débiteur qui menaçait d'échapper à son créancier en quittant la province, en cachant ses biens, etc. Ce bref d'origine anglaise a été aboli par le nouveau Code de procédure civile.
