The purpose of the Catholic Teachers' Guild is to support and strengthen the vocation of the teacher in the tradition of the Catholic church. The Guild seeks to support this vocation through three avenues: an annual conference, an annual award recognizing an excellent Catholic teacher, and a web site. The Guild ultimately seeks to establish an institute to form, train, and support Catholic teachers. The Guild seeks to support the member guilds and foster the creation of new Catholic Teachers' Guilds. Currently, [there are] four Catholic Teachers' Guilds: Toronto (1999), Ottawa (2010), Brantford (2012), [and] Durham (2014).
