By the second half of the 1960s the attention of the international community was already focused on chemical and biological weapons ... Most of the diplomatic work on chemical and biological weapons was conducted within the Eighteen Nations Disarmament Committee (ENDC), a body established in Geneva in 1961 with responsibility for conducting multilateral disarmament negotiations. The membership of this body was later enlarged several times, and its name was consequently changed, first to the Conference of the Committee on Disarmament (CCD), then to the Committee on Disarmament and, finally, to the Conference on Disarmament (CD).

In 1961, the Ten-Nation Committee on Disarmament, meeting at Geneva, became the Eighteen-Nation Disarmament Committee, and consideration of the test-ban issue was moved to that Committee in 1962.

Incoherent change detection identifies changes in the mean backscatter power of a scene typically via an average intensity ratio change statistic. The World Customs Organization, established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council, is an independent intergovernmental body with world-wide membership whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations ... In 1994, the Council adopted the informal working name "World Customs Organization" (WCO) for the Customs Co-operation Council, in order to give a clearer indication of the nature and world-wide status of the Organization. The WCO has two official languages, English and French. However, Spanish is also used for Customs Valuation matters arising from the GATT/WTO Valuation Code. Spanish and Russian are used for the Customs Convention on Containers, 1972. Recently, Spanish was introduced as official language of the technical Committee of Rules of Origin.

The 149 Member World Customs Organization was established to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Customs Administrations. The WCO adds value to the national economic wealth and social protection of its Members by encouraging a transparent and predictable Customs environment within which legitimate international trade may flourish and effective barriers to illicit goods and illegitimate trade may be raised.

CCD is a newly-described disorder of honey bees in which colonies rapidly and unexpectedly die; it is widespread in the United States and has been reported in some European countries. The disorder is characterized by the rapid loss of adult bees from hives leaving behind the brood (larvae and pupae), a small number of young workers and the queen. The remaining adult workforce is insufficient to care for the brood, and the colony collapses. Characteristically, dead bees are not found in the vicinity of the colony.

Le CCD est une affection des abeilles récemment décrite par laquelle les colonies meurent rapidement et sans signes avant-coureurs; il est étendu un peu partout aux États-unis et a été rapporté par certains pays européens. Le syndrome est caractérisé par la disparition rapide d'abeilles adultes dans une ruche, laissant derrière elles le couvain (larves et pupes), un petit nombre de jeunes ouvrières et la reine. Ce qui reste de la main-d'œuvre adulte est insuffisant pour prendre soin du couvain, et la colonie s'effondre. Un signe caractéristique est que l'on ne retrouve pas d'abeilles mortes autour de la colonie.

Bien que l'abréviation CCD corresponde au terme anglais «colony collapse disorder », il est utilisé par plusieurs auteurs en français. Nous suggérons toutefois l'usage d'une abréviation qui correspond plutôt au terme français, soit SEC (syndrome d'effondrement des colonies).
