The new system is called the expedient route opening capability (EROC). It includes three vehicles that specialize in unearthing and neutralizing buried IEDs [improvised explosive devices]: The Husky, the Buffalo, and the Cougar.

On 5 October 2012, CJOC stood up to replace Canada COM [Canada Command], CEFCOM [Canadian Expeditionary Force Command] and CANOSCOM [Canadian Operational Support Command]. Through the integration of its precursors' functions and capabilities, CJOC was built as an agile formation able to conduct continental and expeditionary operations efficiently and effectively, in response to Government of Canada priorities.
