The lack of effective and efficient sharing of corporate electronic data/information is recognised as a major deficiency facing the DND/CF [Department of National Defence/Canadian Forces]. Senior Management stakeholders have identified that they are unable to access all the data/information they need to make decisions now. The mandate of the DISB project is to remedy those shortcomings through the establishment of a corporate information sharing service with one primary focus: to provide DND/CF with a comprehensive service and technology infrastructure that will enable the department to exploit and share information in a co-ordinated fashion.
